Somalia has today executed leader of al-Shabaab assassin group and two of his colleagues in Mogadishu.
Mohamed Haji Ahmed aka Ilka-ase was by firing squad, months after court sentenced to death.
Ilka-ase was convicted for killing 3 generals, a police officer and deputy attorney general.
The other two are Salim Saed Mohamed and Ahmed Mohamed Hashim.
military court official General Abdullahi Bule Kamey reading out the crimes they were convicted said the trio sought appeal to turn down but high court apprehended the previous sentence.
The execution of the militants comes barely a day after the group carried out deadly attack on a popular restaurant in Mogadishu, killing at least seven people.
Al-Shabaab which was ejected from Mogadishu in 2011 has deployed number of its fighters in different towns of the country to carry out assassinations against government officials.
