Galmudug state forces have arrested an alleged Al-Shabaab militant during an operation in Dhusamareeb in central Somalia.
The operations took place on Thursday night following tip off by the public.
The police said they seized explosive components and a tin packed with IED.
Police officers who spoke to the media said the suspect is being at the police station for further investigation.
Al-Shabaab group is accused of planning attacks in the town, which serves currently as the administrative capital of Galmudug state of Somalia.
Forces of Galmudug state backed Somali army have been conducting operations to dislodge al-Shabaab fighters from the region.
