At least three bodyguards have been killed and several others sustained injuries after bomb went off in a residential house of Jubbaland official.
Improvised explosive device (IED) suspected to have been concealed in a room belonging to the guards of Jubbaland minister for environment exploded, killing two brothers and another bodyguard.
Speaking to the media, Eydid Saluiman Hashi stated that he is safe and sound saying the blast caused casualties on his bodyguards.
“The blast killed the boys but I am safe, the blast also destroyed the room,” he said.
The security forces have this morning started investigation to hunt down the perpetrators of the attack.
The attack comes barely two days after hand grenade hurled into the home of deputy speaker of Jubbaland assembly.
The blast injured several people.
It was claimed by al-Shabaab saying the fighters attacked the home of the official.
