Kenya government has confirmed that first Somali national in the country contracted, bringing the number of coronavirus cases to 122.
Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi giving an update on Covid-19 on Friday said the patient was among 12 more patients confirmed to have tested positive.
She stated that the remaining 11 cases are found with Kenyans.Dr Mwangangi also announced that a six-year-old has died from the virus.
She said the young patient was at the Kenyatta National Hospital had an underlying health condition.On Thursday, Kenya government announced 29 new infections and two deaths, the biggest numbers since the first case of coronavirus was confirmed on March 13.
The government begun local production of face masks that will be distributed through the county governments and chairmen of boda bodas and matatus.
Tailors will also be allowed to make face masks from particular materials and are being advised to sell them at a cheap price.The counties will hire 5,000 health workers in the next seven days beginning immediately.
