African Union has condoled with Somali people over the death of former Somali prime minister Nur Adde.
former Prime Minister of Somalia, Nur Hassan Hussein has passed away on Wednesday in London after he contracted deadly covid19.
In a statement, African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) said it has with deep sadness, received the news of the passing of the premier yesterday in London.
Head of AU mission in Somalia, Francisco Madeira termed the late PM as a committed and well-respected figure.
He extended his condolences to the family of the prime minister as well as the Somali federal government.
“On behalf of all the colleagues in the Mission and on my own behalf, I extend our deep-felt condolences to the bereaved family and to the people and Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia for such a great loss,” he said.
The former Prime Minister of Somalia Nur Hassan Hussein has died in London after contracting the deadly COVID-19 disease.
The family of the deceased former leader announced his passing Wednesday noting the Hussein, popularly known as Nur Ade succumbed to the global pandemic after he tested positive last week.
The family spokesman Haji Mohamed Nur Ade said the deceased leader who was undergoing treatment at London’s King College Hospital passed on early Wednesday.
Nur Ade was Prime Minister in Somalia between November 2007 and February 2009 during the reign of President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed.
