A police office was killed and three other people including two officers were wounded following clashes resulted from a football match in Burao, Somaliland.
The police were involved in ending violence between the football fans that clashed over the ongoing match when the incident occurred.
The officers fired in the area to disperse the crowd and among the injured was Burao Aden Saleban police station boss captain Fuad.
The injured were admitted to Burao general hospital for treatment.
Burao is not new to clashes between police and soccer fans.
Clashes erupted between police and football spectators two years ago after some sections of the supporters started waving the Somali flag.
Somaliland declared self-independence from Somalia in the early 1990s a move that is yet to be recognized internationally.
