At least six people have been killed and several other sustained after heavy armed al-shabaab fighters attack police post in Dadaab in Garissa county.
North Eastern Regional Police Commander Paul Soi said police at the camp engaged the militants, prompting brief gun battle between the sides n Saretho area, Daadab subcounty.
Paul said Security personnel managed to kill two al Shabaab fighters and recovered two AK 47 riffles and two IEDs.
“I can confirm that there was an attack which happened early this morning where four civilians were killed and two militants were gunned down,” he said.
According to the official, the operation is currently ongoing in the area to search for the other militants who escaped towards the Kenya-Somali border.
