Somali military court has on Saturday sentenced soldier to death.
Ex-soldier Mohamed Nur Gedi was found guilty by the court for killing Shafie Abdi Hajji on 28the last month in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug state.
His colleague Mohamed Abdi Hassan was sentenced to five years in prison for participating in the crime.
The two were security guards at the official residence of senator Dhagey Gelle, during the incident.
The chair of armed forces court Col. Hassan Ali Nur Shute announced the verdict after cross-examination of the evidence provided in a session that took place in Dhusamareb.
The verdict is open for appeal in a period of 30 days.
