SNA nabs head of al-Shabaab in Janale town

Somali military has captured al-Shabaab leader in Janale following security operations in the town.

According to the the military owned radio, the man whose name did not display was nabbed after the forces raided a house in which he was hiding.

The radio reported the operative was the group leader in Janale town which was librated by Somali national army.

The military officials said the man is undergoing interrogation conducted by the security agencies.

Last week, Somali army forced al-Shabaab fighters out of the town following heavy clashes.

Dozens of the militant fighters were killed during the fighting and dozens others injured.

The move comes barely a day after US claimed to have killed 15 fighters outside Janaale town.
