Officials from European Union (Eu) have held talks with Somalia’s Lower House Speaker Sheikh Adan Madobe in Mogadishu.
In a statement, Sheikh Adan said he received the officials in his office.
The officials were led by EU Special Envoy for Horn of Africa Annette Weber who was accompanied by Ambassador of EU to Somalia Tiina Intelmann.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations and the European Union’s support to Somalia.
The ambassadors reiterated the EU’s commitment to redouble its support for the Somali government. On his part, Speaker Madobe thanked the EU for its continued support to Somalia.
Earlier in the day, the envoy met with with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. Weber congratulated President Hassan over his victory. The head of the EU mission in Somalia Tiina Intelmann was in attendance.
Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud who was elected mid this month has been holding talks with international community representatives in Mogadishu to discuss on the cooperation and ways to enhance relations.
