Mogadishu police commissioner Farhan Qarolehas survived an attack in Mogadishu on Saturday after an explosion targeting his convoy occurred.
A plume of black smoke could be seen billowing from the scene.
According to witnesses, the massive attack in Hodan district in Mogadishu targeted the city’s police boss whose convoy was passing at Banadir junction.
Colonel Farhan Mohamud Aden was appointed as the Benadir Regional Police Commander last April after Somali Police Commissioner Gen. Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hijar fired his predecessor Sadak Omar Hassan for issuing controversial orders warning parliament against conducting further business to extend the term of president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
