Somali foreign minister, Mohamed Abdirizak has held meeting with his Ethiopian counterpart, Demeke Mekonnen in Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa on Thursday.
According to Ethiopian local media, the ministers discussed bilateral and regional issues of common concern.
The host minister has briefed his Somali counterpart on current situations in Ethiopia and the region, including preparations to hold the upcoming general election in the country.
Demeke appreciated the longstanding relationship between the two neighbouring countries,
He also pledged that Ethiopia would do its level best to take the relationship to a higher level.
Minister Mohamed Abdirizak, on his part, expressed his appreciation for Ethiopia’s pivotal role in stabilizing Somalia.
He added federal government of Somalia is holding talks with regional governments on the upcoming elections in the country.
