At least ten al-Shabaab fighters have been killed and several others sustained injuries following heavy fighting with Somali military.
In a statement, Galmudug Security Ministry said Galmudug forces backed by SNA have engaged fighting with Al-Shabaab fighters in Bulacle village in Galgaduud region.
“The troops killed ten al-Shabaab fighters in the fighting. Three soldiers have died in the fighting,” the statement reads in part.
The forces also liberated El-Ali More village on the outskirts of Dhusameeb town following fierce fighting with Al-Shabaab.
The development comes barely two days after Galmudug state vowed to intensify the war on terror.
Despite efforts flush out the group, Al-Shabaab still controls areas in Galmudug state.
Group lost many towns in Galmudug state after engaging in heavy clashes with Ahlu-Sunna Waljama some years back.
