Somaliland leader, Muse Bihi Abdi and UN representative for Somalia have started discussion over suspension of UN humanitarian projects.
According to sources, the two had phone call talks to resolve the differences.
Both UN and Somaliland have not commented on the outcome of the talks.
Last month, Somaliland accused UN agencies of siding with federal government of Somalia.
In a statement, the region announced that it had suspended humanitarian engagements with the UN projects.
The region added that all events related to the suspended programs will no longer take place effective from October 25.
Somalia and Somaliland have for a long time differed on the manner in which donor aid is managed.
Officially, donor aid is channeled through the Federal Government in Mogadishu and subsequently shared with Hargeisa.
However, Somaliland has variously demanded that UN aid in particular be sent directly to Hargeisa.
