Somalia Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has announced the appointment of a 25-member Electoral and Dispute Resolution Commission on Wednesday.
The move is in line with agreements reached between the Federal Government and regional administrations in the country in September as far as the management of upcoming elections.
The Federal Elections Committee will spearhead the elections of the upcoming parliamentary elections next month where 275 members of the Lower House of Parliament and 54 Upper House members will be elected.
101 delegates will elect a member of parliament while regional assembly members will decide on Upper House members representing the interest of their region at the federal parliament.
The Federal Election Commission will coordinate with state-level electoral commission in fulfilling their task of conducting free and fair polls in the country.
According to plans, The Presidential elections are slated for February next year.
The incumbent President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo who is yet to officially declare his rerun will face aspirants from a coalition of main opposition political parties in the country.
