A military court in Puntland has sentenced to death two key operatives of the militant groups Al-Shabaab and ISIS in the region and slapped another one to jail terms of twenty years.
Puntland State Army Court sitting in Bosaso declared the three guilty of belonging to Al-Shabaab and the ISIS wing in Somalia.
The court found Adan Mohamed Hassan and Abshir Mohamed Abdirahman guilty of belonging to Al-Shabaab and ISIS and orchestrating assassinations carried out Bosaso as well as conducting various attacks in the state.
The third one who was identified as Mohamud Shiniyow Ali was sentenced to 20 years in jail.
The three were arrested in a recent military operation in the region and their sentencing came barely a week after three other Al-Shabaab and ISIS militants were sentenced by the same court.
ISIS established itself in Galgala mountain ranges in Puntland in 2015 led by former UK based preacher Abdulqadir Mumin.
Al-Shabaab has also been fighting both ISIS and Puntland forces in Galgala mountains.
