Ministry of Education Unveils New Timetable for National Examination

Somalia’s Federal Ministry for Higher Education has unveiled a new schedule for the National Examinations on Saturday.

A statement from the office of the minister Abdullahi Godah Bare confirmed that the final exams for primary schools’ class eight will commence on 11th this month while high school will start on 18th July.

More examination centers will be put in place during the process to abide by coronavirus prevention guidelines such as social distancing.

The Ministry for education said the decision was reached following consultation with stakeholders across the country including regional state administrations.

It further directed all public schools to reopen by 15th August while higher education centers such colleges and universities will resume lessons on 5th September following the closure in March to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

On the other hand, public schools in Puntland state have already kicked off exams on Saturday (today) ahead of the other learning centers across the country.
