Somali Prime Minister Hassan Kheire has held discussion with his Kuwaiti counterpart over novel Coronavirus on Friday night.
In a Twitter, Somali PM office said PM Kheire had teleconference with Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
The two officials discussed wide range issues including the impact of the virus on both countries and the suitable measures to contain the virus.
“Great telephone conversation with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait to discuss the impact of #COVID19 & strengthening the brotherly relations between our two countries,” a Twitter poster by the office reads.
March outbreak
The Arab league nations have been struggling to stop the Coronavirus which affected both people.
Both countries have recorded their first Coronavirus cases last month with people who had travel history.
Kuwait recorded the first cases of COVID19 on 24th March after a 53-year-old Kuwaiti man, a 61-year-old Saudi citizen and a 21-year-old stateless Arab tested positive for Coronavirus.
The Arab nation adopted the strictest measures in the Gulf to combat the spread of the virus by largely locking down the country.
The country also announced that it would treat all Covid-19 patients, including non-Kuwaitis, who account for nearly 70 percent of the population for free.
Currently, there are 2,614 cases reported in Kuwait with 15 patients succumbed to the disease.
Over six hundred patients recovered from the virus.
Somalia recorded the first of the virus mid last month after two people who travelled China tested positive.
The country imposed night time curfew and suspended local and international flight as well closing all learning institutions to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
The Horn of nation has recorded 328 cases of Coronavirus including 16 deaths.
