Three al-Shabaab militants were killed following US airstrike on the group in Bangeni near Jamame in Lower Jubba region of Somalia.
The strike occurred during a clearance operation by Elite Danab forces.
According to the Somali Federal Government statement, the strike in coordination with US forces targeted armed group al-Shabaab positions with no harm caused to the civilians.
The airstrike is the third targeting the group inside Somalia this year.
US drones strike frequently carry out attacks against al-Shabaab bases in Somalia while providing training to Somali special forces.
The drone technology killed highly-ranking Al Qaida linked leaders including group leader Ahmed Abdi Godane in 2014.
