UAE envoy in Somalia assumes office

The newly appointed United Arab Emirates (UAE) has assumed office after Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud accepted his credentials letters.

Ambassador Ahmad Juma Al Rumaithi has Sunday presented his credentials to President Mohamud at Villa Somalia.

The President wished the new Ambassador success in furthering the two nations’ bilateral fraternal ties.

On his part, Ambassador Juma conveyed a letter from the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to President Hassan Sheikh, which reaffirmed the two countries’ strong brotherly and bilateral ties.

The Ambassador promised to strengthen the bilateral ties between Somalia and the UAE and praised the Somali government for its warm hospitality.
