Somali government has today executed three al-Shabaab convicts barely two days after double deadly car bombings killed at least 100 people.
The men were executed by firing squad at General Kahiye Police Academy in Mogadishu, the latest of series of executions carried out by the government against al-Shabaab and IS members.
According to Somali military court papers, the executed convicts are Hassan Ali Moallim Barre, Nur Ibrahim Mahad-Alle and Isack Kerow
The military court court found Hassan Ali Moalim guilty of detonating car bomb in Wadajir market in November 2018. The explosion killed 12 people.
Nur Ibrahim Mahad-Alle for delivering IED that killed Mahaas deputy mayor in 2019 while Isack Keerow Adan was convicted for hurling a grenades at Suq-ba’ad and Weydow in 2020. The blast killed two people.
The executions of the trio come barely two days after over 100 people were killed twin bombings in Mogadishu. The responsibility for bombings was claimed by Al-Shabaab.
