President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and officials from his government have arrived in Baidoa town of southwest Somalia.
The president and his delegation were welcomed by southwest state officials at the airport before they escorted to Southwest state Presidential Palace.
According to sources privy to the trip, the president will hold talks with Southwest state leader, Abdiaziz Hassan Lafta-gareen and civil society members in the state.
The discussion will focus on drought, the fight against al-Shabaab, and reconciliation efforts in the state.
