At least four Al-Shabaab fighters have been killed and several others wounded following heavy clashes with Somali army in southern Somalia.
According to military officials who spoke to the media, the Somali army had launched operations to hunt down al-Shabaab fighters in Tulo-Barwaqo village near Beled-Hawo town.
The fighting which lasted for more than an hour also claimed the lives of two SNA soldiers and wounded several during the fighting.
SNA officials also claimed to have seized a cache of weapons and ammunition.
Al-Shabaab has not yet commented on the attack.
The group has been fighting the Somali government backed by African Union Transitional Mission In Somalia (Atmis) for more than a decade.
