The leader of Jubbaland regional state of Somalia, Ahmed Mohamed Islam alias Ahmed Madobe arrived in Afmadow in Lower Jubba region on Sunday.
Accompanied by senior officials in his administration Jubbaland leader was welcomed at the airport by district officials including security members.
The trip which took him to Dhobley last week is a follow up to an effort to mobilize regional forces to liberate areas still under the control of armed group al-Shabaab in the state.
During his tour, the state leader will meet representatives from the local administration and community in a bid to drum support for an operation against the group in the remaining areas under their control.
Al-Shabaab is still in control of key towns in lower and middle Jubba regions including Jamame and Bu’ale.
