Somali lawmakers from both the lower and Upper Houses of the parliament will meet in Mogadishu to discuss the way forward ahead of the presidential elections.
The members are expected to elect members of the 11th bicameral Parliamentary Joint Committee tasked to organize the election of a new president.
The long delayed presidential elections are expected to hold from this month.
Article 89 of the Provisional Constitution articulates that a joint session of the Lower and Upper Houses of parliament elect a new president and a candidate needs two thirds of the 329 votes to be declared president.
