Somaliland police have arrested a man suspected to have killed a two-year-old girl in Hargeisa town.
According to a statement, the police said the suspect identified as Said Ismail Hassan decapitated the minor in Sheikh Nur neighbourhood.
The victim was identified as Nashad Sakriye Hassan.
“Somaliland police have arrested Said Ismail who is suspected to have killed Nashad Sakriye Hassan. The suspect will be brought to justice,” the police said in the statement.
No further details were mentioned in the statement.
Somaliland, a region in northern Somalia declared to have seceded from the rest of Somalia in 1991 after the fall of the government led by President Mohamed Siyad Barre.
Despite the relative peace in Somaliland, the region failed to gain recognition from the international community.
