Somali Regional State has hosted first annual investment forum in Jigjiga town to attract potential foreign and local investors.
The conference which opened its doors on Monday was organised by the Somali Regional State investment and Diaspora Bureau.
The two day forum convened business people from Djibouti, Turkey, South Africa, Kenya and Somalia.
Somali regional state president Mustafa Omer who spoke at the event said the forum aims at more investment in the region to gain economic growth.
“We known there are many opportunities needed to be utilise, We have natural resources and even manpower, therefore should be how to make place state developed region,” he said.
The investment Expo will be showcasing many many investment opportunities in the state including energy, mining, livestock, agriculture and manufacturing areas.
According to the president of the region, many investors have already expressed an interest in establishing businesses in Jigjiga and many other town in the region.
