Five al-Shabaab and ISIS fighters have been executed by Puntland forces after a military court in the state convicted them.
According to reports, the men were executed by fire squad in Bosaso town of northeastern Somalia.
The men identified as Hassan Adan Lamow 39, Shafi’I Hussein Moalim 19, Abdikadir Sheikh 22, Farah Said Farah 19, Ibrahim Gudow 23 were all said be active members of Al-Shabaab and ISIS group operating in northern Somalia.
The groups have become more active in Puntland for the last two years.
Hundreds of al-Shabaab defectors in Puntland who formed the ISIS branch in Somalia have been carrying out attacks against Puntland forces.
