The Federal Government of Somalia has called upon the leadership of Egypt and Ethiopia to resolve their difference on Grand Renaissance Dam (GERD) through peaceful means.

The recommendations by the horn of the African nation were made during a virtual meeting of the Arab League foreign ministers on the developments in the Cairo-Addis and Libyan conflict.

“I participated in two virtual and simultaneous Ministerial meetings of the League of Arab States on the conflict in Libya and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). Somalia supports peaceful resolution through talks between Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia on the Grand Renaissance Dam.” Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad said.

Mogadishu also said it strongly backs peaceful resolution towards the conflict in Libya.

“Somalia supports the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Libya.” The Minister reaffirmed.
