At least three people including a mother and her child were killed and three others sustained injuries after bomb exploded on Thursday at Taleh neighborhood in Hodan district.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Information, Ismael Mukhtar Omar told the media that the an IED suspected to have buried on roadside went off just minutes after a military vehicle passed the area.
The EID blast subsequently hit an autorickshaw carrying six people, killing three passengers and leaving behind three injuries.
“The blast killed 3 civilians including a woman with her child and a pedestrian and injured 3 others at Teleh area in Hodan district today,” he said.
Witnesses said convoy carrying former deputy chief of Somali army, Mohamed Ali Barise has passed the area just before the explosion.
“An armed vehicle passed the area before the explosion happen, but terrorists have no target at all,” Mukhtar said.
No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack.
