The ambassador of the state of Qatar to Somalia, Hassan Hamza has on Thursday morning arrived in Kismayo the interim administrative capital of the Jubbaland region.
Ambassador Hamza and his team were welcomed by senior officials from the state led by Jubbaland deputy leader Mohamud Sayid Adan upon arrival ad at Sayid Mohamed Abdulle Hassan airport.
He is scheduled to hold talks with President Ahmed Mohamed Islam after commissioning development projects funded by Doha in the region.
Qatar developed close diplomatic ties with Somalia since Mogadishu neutral stance on gulf sanctions targeting the wealthy nation in June 2017.
Humanitarian agencies from Qatar provided assistance to Somalia while taking part in the implementation of various development projects in the horn of the African nation.
