President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has invited regional state leaders for a national security council meeting.

According to a statement from the office of the President, the meeting will focus on election process, security, and anti-coronavirus prevention efforts.

Villa Somalia said a preliminary virtual meeting on #COVID19 is expected to take place while a technical team is working on the schedule of the summit.

“A technical committee from all insides involved are working on the schedule to enhance the national interest issues and cooperation the Federal Government and regional member states.”

The head of state stressed the significance of the meeting saying it strengthens the progress made in the areas of politics, security, and economic sectors.

The last national security council meeting was held in Baidoa, the administrative capital of Southwest state in June 2018.

The national security architecture strategy agreed in the meeting is currently under implementation.
