Somali President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo held a consultative meeting with the national commission for dialogue and reconciliation for the Federal Government of Somalia and Somaliland administration on Saturday.
The commission was named by the head of state in July this year to spearhead talks between Hargeysa and Mogadishu.
The dialogue and reconciliation committee shared the report with the President on challenges and opportunities towards commissions work.
President Farmajo commended the commission for the achievement during the few months they were in charge.
The head of state also reminded the committee about their role to present long-lasting solutions towards the grievances of brothers in Somaliland administration adding that his government is very committed to achieving that goal.
The six-member committee is chaired by Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail deputized by Abdirahman Abdi Hussein.
The talks between Mogadishu and Hargeisa which was hosted by Turkey stalled in 2015 following preconditions from both sides regarding delegates in attendance.
Somaliland declared succession from greater Somalia in 1992 a move that was not recognized by the international community.
