Somali government has announced that it will refurbish the country’s embassy in France following the visit of Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheire.
In a statement, the office of the prime minister has said the prime minister held talks with the officials at the embassy about wide range issues related to the issues affecting activities of the embassy.
The officials at the embassy briefed the prime minister on the challenges and the operations of the embassy.
Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheire pledged that the government will rebuild the premises of the embassy.
The move comes two months after Somali president, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo unveiled a new Washington Embassy building in Washington.
The President said the implementation of the building, which is meant serve as the first Somali owned embassy in the United States, shows the government’s priority in restoring its international status.
President Farmajo urged Somali diplomats in Washington to serve equally, to be fully aware of the Somali people they represent, and to protect their unity.
