The federal government of Somalia has today lifted the travel restrictions imposed on Kismayu town of southern Somalia.
In Notice to Airman (NOTAM), Somali Civil Aviation Authority said the previous flight suspension introduced on 23rd September has been cancelled.
SCAA stated that all flights can resume normal operations until further notice.
The agency has detailed the reason behind the lifting of the suspension
According to witnesses in Kismayo town, several flights with passengers have landed at Kismayu airport.
Despite the lift of the restrictions, all flights to and from Kismayo are still required to route through Mogadishu.
