Jubbaland State Electoral Commission has released preconditions to be fulfilled by the presidential candidates before the process.
Male candidates must be a Muslim, pay a registration fee of USD 30,000 while female counterparts will pay 15,000 USD, must be a Somali Citizen from Jubaland state, sane, not married to a foreign wife, holder of a Bachelor Degree, ten years’ experience on leadership and not facing any criminal any charges in the country.
All hopeful candidates must above 40 years, have been in the country for the past two years and submit their resume before 22nd July 2019.
The Presidential election is slated on 24th to 30th August according to the poll timetable released by the regional electoral commission last week.
The incumbent leader, Ahmed Mohamed Islam is facing tight race from candidates other candidates.
