A Somaliland military court has sentenced Lieutenant Colonel Salah Bullale Jama to death for killing a woman named Najma Abdillahi Maykal.
Bullaale shot dead Najma on May 2 while driving near the Somaliland Supreme Court.
According to the statement, the officer allegedly killed the women delibrately following dispute between the victim and a woman said to be the sister of the convict. Bullale is said to have targeted the victim to support his sister.
Witnesses told the court that fter the killing, Bulale tried to escape but was apprehended by police officers.
Following an investigation, the Somaliland Military Court today sentenced the officer to death, killing a young woman working for the Ministry of Agriculture.
