Three people were killed and six others were wounded following a car bomb explosion in Mogadishu on Wednesday.
“Three people were killed and six others were wounded in the blast, the injured were taken to hospital for medication.” Salah Hassan Omar spokesman for the Banadir region confirmed.
The blast occurred at a busy security checkpoint along Maka al Mukarama road leading to the Somali parliamentary building and the Villa Somalia presidential palace.
Armed group al-Shabaab claimed the responsibility for the attack.
The group operations spokesman, Abdiasis Abu Masoud said the attack killed several government officials including members of the security forces while destroying Federal government structures.
